Delhi reported 613 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday, its lowest single day tally in nearly two months. The count, however, coincided with lower testing numbers. According to the state health department, only 11,904 tests – 3,821 RT-PCR and 7,685 rapid antigen tests – were conducted in the last 24 hours, against an average of 19,000 tests done between Monday & Saturday. On the previous Monday on July 20 as well, Delhi’s count of cases had fallen below 1,000 for the first time in over a month. Despite the lower testing, the drop in fresh cases was another indication that the infection curve was flattening in the capital.
