The National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) Limited, India’s premier hydropower company on Saturday airlifted 2.6 metric tonnes of medical materials to Manipur from New Delhi in the wake of the Covid 19 pandemic and 21-day national lockdown.
The Delhi Police will issue passes for its citizens after verifying their details. A citizen has to download the form from the Delhi Police App and the person has to fill it with full details. After verifying it, the police will issue the pass for 24 or 48 hours. The person will be able to move in Delhi-NCR region. There are several residents who want to meet their relatives in urgency. This facility will ease the burden of cops to check people if they have a valid document.
Migrant workers in very large numbers at Delhi's Anand Vihar bus terminal, to board buses to their respective home towns and villages. They have walked to the bus terminal on foot from different parts of the city.
"Send us back home" – exasperated migrant workers holed up in dingy rooms in south Delhi's Khirki village, which is just a stone throw away from a complex that houses the capital's three busy malls, say. The migrant workers have been battling through the unclean narrow bylanes, limited food supply and policemen who do not allow them to step out even to buy essential items.
They are more than 480 in number and are staying at the Delhi airport but in no hurry to leave the place now. They are the staff of DIAL, the operator of the country's largest airport, who are keeping the aerodrome operational for cargo as well as special flights and air force operations apart from carrying out sanitisation work amid the coronavirus outbreak, an official said.
