Now, BJP's Hari Nagar Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga has been issued a notice by the Election Commission over his campaign song video. He has been asked to state within 48 hours why the expenditure for the song shouldn't be computed and added to his election expenses. Minutes after Bagga's candidature was announced, the song 'Bagga Bagga Har Jagah' was uploaded on Twitter and forwarded on several WhatsApp groups. The two-minute-long song describes the BJP candidate as a "Sardar who wages war on traitors". Relevantly, a controversial tweet by BJP's Kapil Mishra has also landed him in trouble. Delhi Police lodged an FIR against Kapil Mishra, for his tweet in which he likened the election in the city to an India versus Pakistan contest.
BJP leaders have "irritated" the people of Delhi by raising the amended citizenship act and NRC during the election campaign and it would "backfire" on them, senior AAP leader and minister Gopal Rai said.
Six FIRs were registered against the Congress, three against the Bharatiya Janata Party and 278 against non-political parties.Between Thursday and Friday, 254 people were arrested named in 233 FIRs registered under the Arms Act
“We found some sleeping pills and liquor bottles in the room. Prime facie, it appears he died due to an overdose of medicines and liquor, but things will be clear after conducting his post-mortem. There were no injury marks and his body has been preserved at the mortuary in RML hospital,” the officer said.
