A 17-year-old class-12 arts student who was ‘kidnapped’ by four unidentified persons while returning home after giving exams on Thursday in Delhi was on Friday found by the Vastrapur SHE team. He was standing right outside the police station. His parents, who had registered a kidnapping complaint at the Model Town police station in Delhi, are on their way to Ahmedabad.
According to police, the boy had his examination centre at the Guru Teg Bahadur School in Model Town and while returning home after giving examination, he was approached by four unidentified people. They allegedly kidnapped him and brought him to Ahmedabad by train on Friday morning. He was taken to an unidentified location here in the city but somehow managed to escape from the clutches of the kidnappers.
As the city was unknown to him, he was roaming on the streets and while standing on the road outside SAL Hospital, the SHE team of Vastrapur police station came across him. He was brought to the police station where he narrated his ordeal.
Later, the boy’s parents were contacted in Delhi and it was found that a kidnapping complaint was filed at the Model Town police station. As per a senior police official associated with the case, the child is traumatised and police are going through the CCTV footage of the railway station as well as the surrounding areas to ascertain the route they took in the city.
DCP Zone-1 Ravindra Patel said, “The boy was discovered by the Vastrapur police SHE team on Friday afternoon outside SAL Hospital. His parents and a team of Delhi police are coming to the city. We will know more once they arrive and talk
to us.”
