- Five new dengue cases reported in Delhi; no deaths recorded
According to reports, five new dengue cases have been registered in Delhi since last week bringing the total number of dengue cases to 81.
The cases of vector-bone diseases commonly spread between July and November and sometimes even last till mid-December.

- In India, Argentina FM Santiago raises Falkland issues, lauds ties with Delhi
In Delhi, visiting foreign minister of Argentina Santiago Cafiero has raised the issue of Malvinas or Falkland Island issue and held the first meeting of a commission formed by his government. The islands in South Pacific, are referred to as Falkland by UK and Malvinas by Argentina. Both countries went to war over them in 1982. Delhi Capitals spinner Kuldeep Yadav was all praise for skipper Rishabh Pant and said that the youngster is showing signs of MS Dhoni when it comes to his understanding of the game.
Pant took over the captaincy of Delhi Capitals in the middle of the 2021 season after Shreyas Iyer was injured and he was able to take them to the play-off stages of the T20 competition.

State Secretary of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Jochen Flasbarth has said that Berlin sees a friend in New Delhi and is very hopeful about upcoming visit of PM Modi to Germany. The German National Security Advisor, Jens Plötner, who was on a Delhi visit on Wednesday, has hoped that "back filing" of sanctions imposed by his country against Russia will take place. The West, including Germany and the EU, has announced a number of sanctions against Russia since its invasion of Ukraine on February 24th.

Austrian foreign minister Alexander Schallenberg who is on India visit has said that Russian President Putin "miscalculated" his invasion of Ukraine and " thought Ukrainians won't put up a fight, and he thought west won't react strongly". The Austrian FM met External Affairs minister Dr S Jaishankar on Sunday and he is the first European Foreign minister to visit Delhi since the Russian invasion started on 24th February.

- Don`t politicise legitimate energy transaction, message from New Delhi on getting discounted Russian oil
Amid criticism by the West, especially from Europe over India buying discounted oil from Russia, sources in Delhi have said that "India's legitimate energy transactions should not be politicised" and "countries with oil self-sufficiency or those importing themselves from Russia cannot credibly advocate restrictive trading".
In the aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the US had announced that it will ban import of Russian oil, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and coal with Europe also emphasising that it will move away from dependency on Russian energy.

- Sigh of relief: 183 Indian citizens reach Delhi in special flight under Operation Ganga
In what can be called a sigh of relief, around 183 Indian citizens, who were stranded in Ukraine, have reached Delhi on Sunday in a special flight.
On Saturday, the flight had departed from Hungary's capital Budapest under ‘Operation Ganga’. It landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The passengers were received by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav. He also had a discussion with the students.

The German Navy chief VAdm Kay-Achim Schönbach in Delhi has batted for good ties with Russia to rein in China in a remark that goes against the present narrative coming from Europe amid the deteriorating situation in eastern Europe.

- Delhi reports highest COVID - 19 cases since May; Goa announces restrictions
Amid rise in coronavirus cases, the Goa state government on Wednesday imposed new restrictions to combat the virus.
Cinema halls and entertainment outlets in Goa were ordered to operate at 50 per cent capacity. Fully vaccinated people and only those with negative COVID-19 certificates will be allowed entry into the state, the local government announced.

A special flight with more than 100 people onboard has arrived in New Delhi on Friday.
The flight carried several Afghan Sikhs and Indians, a PTI report said citing people familiar with the matter.

Shreyas Iyer is likely to leave Delhi Capitals (DC) ahead of the new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022. The star India batter was replaced as captain by wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant for the 2021 season of the league and is keen on looking for a leadership role elsewhere in the IPL.
As per a report in the Times of India, Iyer wants a leadership role and is unlikely to get it at Delhi Capitals, who were led to the playoffs by Pant this season. Thus, Iyer will be making himself available in the mega auction that is set to take place ahead of IPL 2022.
